Design Competition II

In January 2010, the jury will select approximately twelve finalists from all of the Stage One applicants for the Design Competition for Manhattan Airport. These finalists will subsequently be invited to participate in Stage Two of the Competition in which the individual concepts will be refined and developed into fully realized design proposals.

Upon electing to participate in Stage Two, finalists will be issued a more detailed set of instructions regarding the design requirements for the site along with specific competition guidelines, rules and regulations. Stage Two finalists will be required to present their proposals to the jury in person beginning April 2010. After a thorough review of all the work the jury will make its recommendation. Tomoko Tanaka, the Chair of the Architectural Steering Committee will announce the winning finalist and two alternates in mid-July.
